Application: 4-11/16" Junction Boxes are installed in walls or ceilings for lighting fixtures, switches, receptacles, life safety devices, and security cameras. These larger boxes are installed when larger sized conductors are required. They are great for industrial applications. Garvin Industries offers Chicago Plenum boxes that are approved for use in Chicago Plenum Air Spaces and have "air tight" knockouts. Red painted boxes are also available to easily distinguish fire alarm circuits.
Advantages: Garvin Industries' shallow 1-1/2" deep boxes can be used where reduced wall depth imposes limitations and their 2-1/8" deep boxes can be used where extra volume for wiring and devices is needed. 4-11/16" Junction Boxes have versatile, combination-head screws that securely fasten a cover to an electrical junction box using a slotted, Phillips, or Robertson head screwdriver.
